A few nights ago we had a beautiful Harvest Moon. Although I have taken photos of the moon in the past I had not done so in many years. The thing that made it so different this time was the equipment I was using. This photo was taken outside of my house WITHOUT a tripod. It was shot with a Canon 5D mark iii, Canon 2.8 70-200 lens and a Canon 2x iii extender. I love the way it came out.

It is funny how I get new clients sometimes. Often they are friends, sometimes old high school friends I haven't seen in years now have kids that need senior pictures. And sometimes my customers from my full time job and business The Shark Reef end up getting pictures done. Probably because I am sitting at my shop a good portion of the time working on others photos. I was grateful today to take photos for Kaitlin. Her mom works at a business where I service their aquarium each week. Somehow I get to chatting and the next thing you know I am showing them photos. I love when a senior has an idea for what they want. All I really knew before the shoot was that she was bringing her dirt bike that she loves to ride. I had asked what color it was and knew exactly where to take her. Some people have a perfect natural smile and are so very easy to shoot. After the first click I said okay great I think we're done. It was just that easy. Thankfully we had another 59 minutes in the session to really get some fun shots. Thanks LeAnn for allowing me to take photos for your daughter's big year. And Kaitlin, make it the best year ever! Well I am finally ready to reveal my new website. I have used Homestead with their website design features for almost 12 years for my other business and also the sites I run for a few non profits. A year or so ago I set up the one for my photography and honestly I have hated it from the moment I made it. It is so old style technology with no mobile version and it didn't have anyway to have nice drop down menus. It was just sad.
So a few weeks ago I start looking at other websites that have built in website builders in them. After looking through the top ten on a review online I decided to try Weebly. I must say after only an hour or so I was so much more happy and knew that I could really make something I would want to share with the online world. Drop down menus, easy site builder, lots of places to put photos and the ease of doing so makes me want to redesign all of the websites I have made and I probably will. Finding this blog page also was something I have thought about doing but just never found a place I wanted to join to do so. But now with my own website and blog on the site I am excited to see where it takes me. I plan on sharing mostly photos and some commentary on the shoots I do in the upcoming years. SO please feel free to follow me, like my photography page on Facebook or book a photo session. I would love to "shoot" you. :) Thanks for visiting, E |
